How it works
KinCareCircle holds one thing: everything to do with looking after one person, for everyone helping to look after them.
Getting set up
- 1Make a circle around one personTheir name, date of birth, phone number, address, conditions and allergies. Three emergency contacts. That is the whole of setup, and it takes a couple of minutes.
- 2Invite everyone who helpsFamily, neighbours, paid carers. Each person gets their own name against what they do, so the record shows who did what rather than a single anonymous tick.
- 3Put in the medication onceEach prescription with the times it is due. The week fills itself in from there, and every drug keeps one colour wherever it appears.
- 4Use it as the day happensTick things off, write a line in the journal, mark who is on. None of it is a form — it is meant to be done one-handed, standing up, in a hurry.
What you get
- A care circleEveryone helping — family, carers, neighbours — around one person, in one place.
- A shared dayTasks, doses and who's on duty, so nobody doubles up and nothing quietly gets missed.
- Medication kept straightEvery prescription and the times it's due, laid out across the week, with allergies in plain sight.
- A journal anyone can write inHow they were today, in the words of whoever was actually there.
- A weekly round-upThe last seven days at a glance — for the family, or to take to the GP.
Two things it does that others don’t
Export what happened
A daily or weekly report of what was done, what was missed, how they seemed and what they are taking. Plain text, so it prints, emails and survives being pasted anywhere. Written for the appointment where somebody asks “and how have they been?” and the honest answer is a fortnight of half-memories.
Keep the paperwork
Discharge letters, care plans, a photo of the pill box — stored beside the person they belong to instead of in somebody’s inbox.
